Country life's got its simple pleasures. Morning starts slow, with the light scent of the sea drifting in through the slightly open window. Breakfast's a quiet delight: soft-boiled eggs from the neighbor's hens, coffee from the stove with a swirl of fresh cream, homemade croissants slathered with butter. Mozart's concertos weave through it all gently.

Mozart: Adagio for clarinets and basset horns, K.411

While it's not all that long since I last listened to this, it's come up in the Mozart chronology (the original K number is a little bit out of whack as it's believed to be a piece written for the Freemasons)... and it's worth mentioning because it's one of the most delightful little pieces you could hope to hear. Six to seven minutes of aural chocolate.

Yes, the look is somewhat anti-Calvinistic.
On the other hand, it's very difficult to record its sound.

Mozart: The Impresario. I just watched an English-language production on YouTube, as not a single one of the versions on Idagio comes with a booklet.

Between this and The Abduction from the Seraglio, I think I'm rather a fan of these sorts of singspiels.

Where is it?

Thought of you, @Traverso, today, listening to the Stratford Magnificat.

Mozart: Piano Concerto no.23 in A

A rather more mellow concerto.

Also, the work that Stalin supposedly demanded a recording of after hearing it on the radio, and that was on his record player when he died (a story that ends up being parodied in The Death of Stalin, although in the film the time period between the recording and Stalin's death is collapsed by about 9 years!).

For Lent, and especially for Holy Week, Les Sept Paroles du Christ by Theodore Dubois.

An impressive performance by a Korean Catholic Choir and a symphony orchestra:

This does not seem like standard Florestan diet. Are you ok?

Well, Sunday night I had atrial fibrillation; I returned home from hospital a few hours ago, so you might be on to something.  ;D
