The five books were already in a slim packaging. The entire thing will probably be cheaper now, though I tried to pick each book at a discount, but I'm good.

All the famous stuff: Iberia, Alborada, Escales, Rapsodie Espagnole, totaling 57 minutes. No Massenet Le Cid or Chabrier Espana. For that matter, only one-third of Escales is in Spain...maybe Ibert's Chevalier Errant or Serenade pour Dulcinee should have been used instead... why didn't they put me in charge? 

OK so here would be my program:

Chabrier Espana and Habanera 10'
Ibert Serenade 4'
Massenet Le Cid 20'
Debussy Iberia 19'
Ravel Alborada + Rapsodie 23'
= 76'

But frankly no important Alessandro Scarlatti recordings on Erato spring to mind... Is this another reissue of outdated (pre-HIP) stuff?

Erato absorbed the Virgin Veritas catalogue, so it's likely that the box contains recordings from that label with Fabio Biondi among others.

Dragosits' Froberger CD for Divox and her CD for Fra Bernardo called "Italia" are very fine, but the late French Baroque music programming of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" is too late to me.
