I'm curious about Sarabande (the guy with the New Zealand girlfriend). He posted like crazy for a few months but hasn't been heard from since the beginning of April. His account is still active.

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Yes, very strange.  I can hardly remember current members, never mind past ones.

Yes Don, never mind us.  ;D

No - I don't remember you either.

Don, it's part of aging. And if you lose your spectacles, try looking for them on the top of your head. That's where I usually find mine.

I wonder about him, too...... he deleted his myspace account, too..... and it was an artist profile with music and everything on it.

Sean has left (for the 217th time), but I suspect he's romping in some Asian woodlands, and will return with a fresh batch of pictures, including beehive pictures (hopefully).  :D

Maybe he's studying for final exams?  I got the impression he was a good student.

Sarge - I miss Paulb, too - quirky but always opinionated - remember helping him get a 'color avatar' of his lion image (shown below) - plus, thinking of him always brings up memories of New Orleans & Katrina - hope that he is doing well?   :)

MN Dave has de-registered and is now a "guest"!

Can I just say? If you ever plan to leave, don't delete your account. It's really annoying to me to see that empty shell of "guest" next to all those posts, and it's also highly irritating when it comes to looking up old posts and so on. But aesthetically it's awful. If Dave, Mark and so on still had accounts, but perhaps with signatures explaining they'd left, the forum would be nicer and tracking down old discussions/recommendations easier. Plus, seeing "guest" makes me depressed.

:(

Agreed. I think the main reason, though, could be that they feel they spend too much time here, and deleting their account is a way to prevent temptation. I've considered doing so for that reason (not for any negative reasons regarding the posters here, of course).

It's not the only way to prevent temptation, though, and it's a ridiculously drastic one. Self-discipline, gents.

Or changing your password to a series of random letters and numbers, forwarding the new password to a trusted friend, and then deleting it from your own sight and logging off.

How about Contrapunctus?  Remember that guy?  :-X

Contrapunctus...the guy who loved all things Bach.

I'm picturing he and Rod Corkin in the same room together...

Veit Bach-a baker who found his greatest pleasure in a little cittern which he took with him even into the mill and played while the grinding was going on. In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach
