That might be nice, I would be interested in an update of my Kuijken/Petite Bande recording! :)
(Which hasn't been surpassed or even equalled in all these years IMO)

I didn't see anyone post this yet; I haven't seen contents for it:

MERCURY LIVING PRESENCE VOLUME 2 (55cd)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B7364H2/ref=cm_cd_asin_lnk
ASIN: B00B7364H2  [but does not appear at Amazon US yet]

A release date (at Amazon UK) of early April.

I missed the first one because there was too much on it that did not excite me (maybe for reasons of ignorance only); but I might just pony up for this one, depending on how much GMGers sing the praises of the content.

Just read that Paul Mccreesh and the Gabrieli musicians have recorded Britten's War Requiem for a Sept. 2013 release date.

Piatigorsky is da bomb! My favorite 'historical' cellist, bar none.

I almost never NOT wish he had played with a more musical violinist, though. :-) (Brahms Double Cto., case in point)

Everything where Heifetz is less than 1/2 the ingredient has all-round potential of greatness.

I just noticed that it looks like Decca will be reissuing their Wagner GREAT OPERAS FROM THE BAYREUTH FESTIVAL (33cd) this June.  Of course, I notice this just days after receiving my Bohm RING.   :-X  I don't know many of these recordings, though the Bohm TRISTAN, one of the mere-few I've heard, still sounds pretty great to me.

That second is an interesting mix, Brian. Having just sung some Creston with my buddy Paul's choir, I should like to give the Creston alto saxophone concerto a listen.  (I know we played some Creston in one of the region bands I took part in, way back in the day, but I have no recollection what the piece was. Pretty sure it was a slighter piece than a concerto for saxophone and band.

Maybe old news, but this is the first peek I've gotten at what might be the first released version of the next installment in the DG firesale/commemoration of HvK, the complete 1970s recordings:

ASIN: B00B5NTK7K
But this ASIN only seemed to work for me at Amazon US, not at Amazon UK; nor did I see a forthcoming listing for this set at Amazon UK.
I wonder if this is like the original/dry-run Korean [??] edition of the 1960s box, which iirc came out perhaps a year before the Euro-American edition.  It seems to also be 'original jacket', and you can buy one right now from a MP dealer for $420, you sucker.  Here's the kind of unintelligible blurbage from Amazon:

Two new releases.

The first one is probably more interesting because of the less explored repertoire.

I ran across a listing of the Mercury Living Presence Vol. 2 box contents, though I think it's been auto-translated from Japanese, so the reading might be a bit rough at times.  I will reproduce the links I posted a page ago or so...
