This:(may I suggest editing out the digital glitch in the very beginning..)

Good suggestion!  Wonder if I can do that without entirely re-loading it . . . probably not.

I may just wait until the 15 April concert, and if we get a good document of that, swapping that up for the present recording.

Thanks for listening. Karlo; hope you liked it!  (That glitch notwithstanding.)

I liked the work very much indeed - and Op. 118 too, When the morning stars sang together in particular. :)

I completely agree with you, North Star!  This recording is very high on my wish list at the moment - as is the Bononcini Mass. . .

One of my favorite Bach Cantata discs.  Such a wonderful performance throughout.  My favorite Easter Oratorio (though I'm keen on hearing Gardiner's new release).  :)

The Bononcini Mass is wonderful, I've heard it on Spotify ages ago.

I suppose you have many of the albums in this box? If not - run, do not walk, to get it (or the ones you don't have separately)

What is the packaging like, Karlo?  Though I'll find out for myself . . . I had to pull the trigger.  Now I need to discover where to keep it . . . .

As I read that, it will duplicate the Vespro della Beata Vergine . . . but I have a friend for whom that dup will be the perfect gift . . . .

You'll need a separate room for it ;)

Don't have the box.  I seem to be picking them up individually though. . .

Que recently posted a purchase of the Bononcini Mass disc and I am eager to read his review.  Great to see that you are enthusiastic over it, North Star!

That Lumieres box - oy! - that is one I keep hesitating over (a mistake, I know).  Size does matter in this case!  :D

Just think of the space you save viz having 29 CD's in the usual Harmonia Mundi packages!! The operas and oratorio alone must take about half the space of the box.

You and much of the classical music world.  He should be better appreciated than he is - his violin concertos, Introduction et Rondo Capricciosso, and Oratorio de Noël are often heard chez nous and often is not enough.

Agreed. His cello concerti are quite fine, too and I just love Carnival of the Animals.

Like it so far but the acoustic is a bit cavernous.

it's an almost exact twin if the DRD/Stuttgart  Haydn cube.

Put one on each end of your CD shelves and you're assured of a well balanced collection.
(Actually, I have them sitting together.)
