To give a taste of what we might expect from the upcoming album, here are a couple of videos of MusicAeterna and Teodor Currentzis doin' their thang with Rameau:

Platée, Acte I, Scène IV - Orage

Les Boréades, Acte I - Contredanse en rondeau

I don't know about anyone else, but to me those performance were rushed (as in, "Look how fast we can play!"). Hopefully, the orchestra relaxes a little on the recording.

Oh, the thought of Currentzis/MusicAeterna performing Rameau gives me chills. I love seeing new Rameau recordings.  8)

Hmmmm. I like Minkowski, but he sounds a bit underpowered in the clips I could find (both audio and video). For exmple:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qHisZ8Z5Mw

I just watched the video (see below). I didn't mind it being underpowered – but I did mind the noticeably bad horn note at 1:23-1:27 in the right channel. (In the words of young people nowadays: "Ewww".)

http://www.youtube.com/v/_qHisZ8Z5Mw

Bad horn notes notwithstanding, I've enjoyed hearing Minkowski's interpretation of the symphonies. I might have to listen to more.

By the way, that video was posted by the record company Naïve. It has this text underneath it over at YouTube:

"This video is unlisted. Be considerate and think twice before sharing."

It's the first time I've come across a message like that. Now I'm wondering if I'm being inconsiderate posting the video here.

Does anyone know the correct netiquette at times like these?

Minkowski is my top pick in the Schubert symphonies for whatever that's worth. I prefer him to Immerseel and Harnoncourt and consider him on a level with Wand. The 'live' energy comes through quite well in spite of some missed notes.

I haven't heard much so far, but I'm enjoying what I'm hearing. (And I'm fine with dodgy notes here and there.)

I'm sure Stravinsky would have enjoyed this box set...lol. ;D
What was it? "The same concerto over and over again", or something to that effect... :D

Yep, that was it. :)

Like many (most?) of Stravinsky's bon mots, this one remains yet to be proved.

Let's take two Vivaldi concertos randomly; say, RV 439 "La Notte" for flute and strings, and RV 394 for viola d'amore and strings. Now, can anyone please show me/us how are they the same?

An excellent composer;  and I find his positive enthusiasms of interest.  Cannot take his expressions of musical scorn seriously, of course.

Of course there were fewer known Vivaldi scores, let alone recorded, back then when Stravinsky said what he said.
