Landed today, though I probably should have bought it long ago:

This disc is really a bit of a hodge-podge, but some of it is very welcome. Fine performances of Intermittences and Catenaires, a first recording of the wind quintet 9x5 (which I found a bit underwhelming in comparison to my memories of a live performance in 2012), and some early vocal works that I haven't listened to yet.

The big thing here is Charles Rosen playing the piano concerto. It's a fascinating reading, playing up the lyrical side of the work in a way that it hasn't been on disc previously, and making the links between middle and late Carter very clear. I wouldn't want to be without Oppens in this piece, but Rosen's performance (and Rosen was close to Carter) makes it clear that the aggressive, violent view of the work is one that shows only one side of it.
"I don't at all mind actively disliking a piece of contemporary music, but in order to feel happy about it I must consciously understand why I dislike it. Otherwise it remains in my mind as unfinished business."
-- Aaron Copland, The Pleasures of Music

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Both good recordings!
I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

I was listening to that CD about a month ago (in the midst of a brief Les Troyens frenzy). I've owned it for many years, and it is superb! Hope you enjoy it... :)

That is great, thank you. I just bought it on a whim and look forward even more to hearing it.

Bax: Chamber Music....

The Harp Quintet is my favourite piece of chamber music by Bax - a lovely work.

I still find Goodman's Haydn most appealing.

I have not heard it yet but I am looking forward to it. I am only entering the Chamber Music world of Bax at the moment and that one certainly grabbed my attention.

There's hardly a disc of anything by anybody that hasn't been recommended by somebody at some time or another at this site. ;)
