I noticed this wasn't the bad covers thread, and that this kind of stuff doesn't usually happen in the New Releases thread.

Okay. I'll count you among the not amused, then.

Question: Who is this kid and what does she have to do with new releases?

All will be revealed (in a manner of speaking) tomorrow, if no one figures it out.

Vanessa Benelli Mosell.  She has a couple Decca Italy releases out already (covered in The Italian Invasion thread), and a couple other discs on Brilliant Classics, and a Rach disc coming soon on Decca (the Austrian arm, I believe), which I posted about in this thread around a month ago.

Has his Beethoven op 119 ever been released outside Japan? That was another goodie.

Yes, I have these on a Piano Library label recording. They are also available on Naxos in a much better remastering.
Cheers

Question: what is on Judge Fish's mind ?  ::)

I reviewed a Mosell disc (the Brilliant Classics Liszt) for MusicWeb a few years ago. I did not comment on the pianist's looks.

Ok, you guys are on top of this more than I am.

I was on the prestoclassical website looking at future releases and I saw this:

and then on the same page:

I was struck by the contrast in their outfits, and thought – Here we go again. They're using sex to sell music by some babe again. That will never work on me!! Et cetera.

Then out of curiosity I did a quick google image search and realized that it would be almost impossible to take an unattractive picture of Vanessa Benelli Mosell. If anything, the above album cover is arguably modest, or at least unflattering. For better or worse, VBM is cursed with incredible beauty. We listeners must somehow look beyond her handicap.

I was amused by the whole thing, so I thought I'd post here. Hope someone else gets a kick out of it.

Yep, as everyone else pointed out already: she's a pianist and as you mentioned above I CAN NOT find one bad photo of her at all. She's damn good looking in all of them. Truly a woman blessed with beauty. Looks aside, I don't know anything about her pianism, but I'm not really as into pianists as many people here seem to be.

Well I find Bertrand Chamayou nice to look at. So there.

Haven't heard a note of his playing yet.
Nobody has to apologise for using their brain.

I suggest correcting that ASAP.

I think his Liszt is to die for...

And you hope to attract us by that? Sounds scary to me.

I meant to get that except it is OOP (I think) and price is crazy expensive.

Zeus

If you can live with a download, you can get one here @ 320 kbps for a reasonable price...

If you buy "double your downloads" booster packs like I do, you can get the album for $6.

I think it was your praise that first got my attention, actually. Ravel, I believe it was.

$50 at Amazon marketplace, so a bit spendy but not too bad.  His Transcendental Etudes is still available at normal price.

Unfortunately I've never heard cellist Emmanuelle Bertrand (or the conductor) but the fact this disc has (pianist) Pascal Amoyel on it means it's in need of serious investigation.
Veit Bach-a baker who found his greatest pleasure in a little cittern which he took with him even into the mill and played while the grinding was going on. In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach
