It's been ages. Let's see if this is as good as I remember it.  :-\

Thank you. I've just been introduced to Shostakovitch and was very tempted to get the set, but being new, wasn't sure about the cost... :)
$5 per disc from Amazon.

Fibich, Zdeněk - CDs below arrived a few weeks ago, so probably my third hearing and really enjoying - will check on Amazon to see what else may be of interest - one of those Czech composers forgotten and overshadowed by the usual suspects - :)

P.S. just obtained a Macbook Pro w/ retina display - a lot easier to add those 'special letters' vs. my old Dell laptop!

Consider me intrigued by the three "Glimpses" for prepared piano. Cage, obviously, but with a certain touch, a certain jenesaisquoi, as the Canadiens might say.
The Violin Concerto is full of Gamelan allusions, but they're mercifully subtle.

*pounds the table* (for the Fibich discs as well)

My old Macbook Pro just turned age five. It serves me fine, but I'll probably have to upgrade when Apple decides not to support it in the next version of OS X.

t'wasn't me guv'nor...  >:D 0:) :blank:

That's what I thought this music would be to me but i am actually enjoying it so far

Seven Early Songs were really good; Altenberglieder and the Three orchestral pieces are a bit more weird but ok. The structure is just bit unnerving, lots of toing and froing...  ???
