Quote possibly. Another thing I've noticed is that prices tend to go up and down, seemingly randomly, which I suspect is intended to prompt people who hold an item in their shopping cart to pull the trigger.

What I've sometimes wondered is if Amazon is showing different prices to different users (perhaps showing lower prices to customers their algorithm has identified as cheap skates, and higher prices to profligate spenders). That's what I would do.
...
OT from the thread, but I have to laugh thinking about all the times I've seen on Amazon "1 left, order soon" and then looking an hour later and seeing "20 in stock, more on the way".

Savitri is a genuine masterpiece - such economy of form and expression but deeply moving at the same time (well that's my half penny's worth!)

Mandryka

Listening to the first CD of Kooiman's AoF for Coronata, which I'm very happy to have received today. It seems wonderfully noble, strong and gentle, and humane.  Lyrical too, with long singing phrases.

(Cpt 4 playing now - very intense playing.)

And now a memorably good cpt 6 - in style francese
Wovon man nicht sprechen kann, darüber muss man schweigen

Linz

Brahms Symphony No. 4 Brahms Haydn Variations and Schubert Symphony No. 5 under the baton of Istvan Kertesz

It's remarkable how performances can be valued so differently, Premont thought that the AoF sounded uninspired. I haven't listened to it myself yet.

Another great VW disc, combining two of his greatest works in fine performances under Abravanel.

Absolutely!

Symphony No. 6, Op. 79
Wiener Sängerknaben, Wiener Symphoniker

I really should get back to exploring Weinberg's oeuvre. Such a fantastic composer.

He can speak for himself but maybe the lyricism was not to his taste. And maybe the sound was not sufficiently clear and equally balanced in all voices - though this may be a question of engineering.

I'd be surprised if anyone could say that the Cpt 6 is uninspired playing though.

Nice! Reger is another composer I need to spend more time with, because I do hear something personal in his music, but he's kind of a hard egg to crack.

Paul Tortelier playing Kodaly's Op. 8. A great cellist whose playing I should've listened to more over the years.
