Oh, interesting!  I have one pair of their shoes.  I basically have to buy what is comfortable for me these days; no Manolo Blahniks nor Louis Vuitton alas [even if that was part of my budget].   ;)

Quote from: Karl Henning on January 25, 2025, 01:11:00 PMHäagen-Dazs. And no one even remembers Frusen Glädjé now. Hysterical that "Häagen-Dazs sued unsuccessfully in 1980 to stop Frusen Glädjé from using a "Scandinavian marketing theme". Häagen-Dazs's complaints included Frusen Glädjé's "prominently displayed list of the product's natural ingredients, a list of artificial ingredients not found in the ice cream, directions for serving and eating the ice cream (essentially that it was best served soft), and a map of Scandinavia". The court ruled against Häagen-Dazs on the grounds of unclean hands, as Häagen-Dazs had similarly marketed itself as Scandinavian (specifically Danish) without having any real connection to the region."
Their ice cream is good, but I remember hearing years ago about the name and company's background.  Didn't know about their lawsuit.

Shabby bear!! What a description 😅🤣

Quote from: Madiel on January 25, 2025, 01:16:47 PMSpecifically Danish?!? With an ä?

That alone makes me want to avoid their ice cream. If you're going to be inauthentic you could at least try to get it right. In Danish they use æ.

Thanks.
Reality trumps our fantasy far beyond imagination.

Is that like a well-loved, but worn out teddy bear?  As in bare patches of fur and maybe repaired (stitched) child's favorite toy/companion?

About 10 years ago, another forum where I was a regular had a whole day where, by common agreement, we all spent the day pretending to be each other. It was terrific fun  ;D

No, it was most likely young Brahms.

Ah, okay. Well, I definitely approve of any Brahms avatar. I love that man's music dearly.

Some members are difficult to decipher a particular writing style, but a lot of this, for me, this is attributed to their infrequent posting. Like, for example, when @The new erato was posting pretty regularly, it was easier to discern his writing style, but now I wouldn't even know since he doesn't get on here much these days.

An unkempt bear, not neat in appearance and prone to grumble a lot, bite people on occasion, and bad table manners also, drinks excessive amounts of Malt, and complains a lot about the world. That's a Shabby bear.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

"When Time hath gnawed our bones to dust, yet friendship's echo shall not rust"
