I'm absolutely fine now, it was nothing serious, just a few hours of arrhythmia which necessitated chemical conversion. A most unpleasant feeling, though, to feel your heart beating as a polyrhythmic drum.

Thought of you, @Traverso, today, listening to the Stratford Magnificat.

Was it this recording?

Viola Romance.
See back cover for details.
Rivka Golani, Viola.
Zsuzsa Kollar, Piano.
Recorded: 2020.

I needed something simple but delightful. This recording fulfills all my wishes, especially if it is played by Rivka Golani, and aided by an equally talented pianist. The music flows easily, just as it should, why, who would not like Kreisler? Recording is fine. Just 120 minutes of gorgeousness. What more could one wish.
"adding beauty to ugliness as a countermeasure to evil and destruction" that is my aim!

Checked out a dozen versions of Waldszenen today, taking full advantage of that streaming magic. I was looking for the one that would hit the spot, and this one worked out better than the rest.

... music is not only an 'entertainment', nor a mere luxury, but a necessity of the spiritual if not of the physical life, an opening of those magic casements through which we can catch a glimpse of that country where ultimate reality will be found.    RVW, 1948

Weingarten Abbey. I guess that sort of Italianate interior never made it as far north as Holland.  Or are there some religious ideas in play?

Well, I started the morning out with Mozart Piano Sonatas performed by Mao Fujita (reviews attached), then the mail arrived containing a package from JPC: Devienne, Francois' Flute Concertos w/ András Adorján on a modern flute (4 discs with all 12 numbered works and several posthumous ones) - Devienne was a professor of flute at the Paris Conservatory and was dubbed the 'French Mozart' - he died insane (cause?) at the young age of 44 years (1759-1803), having written about 300 works mainly for wind instruments (I own just over a dozen recordings).  Dave

Indeed Weingarten as you can see on the cover I included.

Possibly, there are so many decorations that you can't see no longer the structure.I don't like it.  I  associate it with very sweet cake ....

I made a mistake ,I have this one too.

First listen to this glorious recording!

Oh my word.....I am in heaven surely. About the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. My favourite Requiem (by any composer) and really my favourite sacred vocal work of any composer. What an astonishing performance. A great big thank you to @Der lächelnde Schatten for your can't miss recommendation. And now, I pay it forward and highly recommend it to those who are curious about it. :) And one of the best quality product packaged double discs you can find. It will make you feel like royalty!
