But the right conductor....?  Hard not to feel than Nelsons has a scatter-gun approach to the repertoire he records.....  Is HE that good or is he just blessed with brilliant orchestras?

I'm most definitely interested in the De Wert/La Compagnia recording.

Judging from the composers the I Fagiolini recording probably features some excellent music, but curious what I Fagiolini make of it since I've had mixed results with them.

It seems the only complete recording issued by EMI was really the Edel (Berlin) Classics recording with Norman and Gedda, so they may not have the rights to it. (I have it the Brilliant Classics issue.) It's a three CD set (just under 3 hours, but too much to fit on two CDs), which probably figured into any discussion they had about including it. TBH, I found it a bit boring.

I suspect this set is going to be one of those "How much of this do I already have" sets.

The symphonies are nice but more Classical than Romantic. I remember liking a Scherzo from one of them but can't remember which otomh.

That again may reflect the limits of the Warner catalog.  The only recording of the piano concertos issued by a Warner label listed on Amazon was, like Euryanthe, originally released by Edel (Berlin) Classics.
