My friend in Germany died this morning early, as his sister told me, he did not suffer, and passed quietly away after seeing the sun come up. And yet again cd's will come my way, for he wanted me to have them. What irony, I stopped virtually buying them, but still they come...There must be some meaning in it. Thought I let you know. I told him by the way of all the good wishes of all of you, and the prayers that where send up, he was absolute grateful for that, and asked me to tell you. Since he was a great admirer of Reger, I will play lots of his piano music.

He asked me to play Reger when he would die, so I do......

My condolences, Harry.
I myself have been having a tough time. My closest friend, who was also my partner for 5 years, died of a massive heart attack alone in his bedroom at night, without any warning, a couple of weeks ago. He was 43.
You at least have faith to support you. I am not able to believe in life after death, and the feeling of it being so final, of not ever again being able to see him is devastating.
In a sense, I wish it had been cancer or something more slow-acting, so we could say goodbye. But I guess this way it was quick and painless.
This should be a wake up call to our own mortality and the importance of enjoying each day and of caring for those we love.

I know what you feel, and you have my empathy  in your coping with this loss also.

How dreadful for you :( My deepest sympathies!!

You are so right...we never know what will happen next and sometimes it is too late to say or do the things we should have when the other person was still around! Life is too short to lose touch with family and friends :(

I hope that you will find the strength to get through this as I am sure your friend would wish :)

Harry and Mozart's neighbour,

I am so sorry to hear this sad news.  Words are insufficient at these times but please know that I am thinking of you both.
